Hello! Thanks so much for checking out Pictures With Polly. I'm Polly Dierkens, a Hudson, Ohio-based portrait and event photographer who has been Immersed in journalism for over 25 years now. More importantly, in Round Three of a battle with breast cancer, I am so very passionate about preserving memories for people. Initially diagnosed at the age of 33 -- and facing the fear of leaving my college sweetheart and our 7 & 5 year old children way too soon -- just fueled my mission to capture moments for my family and for others. And now at 45, with the cancer in my lungs, I am determined to "keep on keeping on," dealing with cancer as a chronic illness.

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and have taught the subject -- as a part of my yearbook, newspaper and graphic design curriculum -- for 22 years at Streetsboro High School. Most of my spare moments are spent indulging in photography -- researching, practicing, editing, teaching and appreciating! My favorite subjects: my college sweetheart/husband, Jake; our daughters Audrey and Jess; and rescue pups: Charlotte and Blizzard, along with kitties Hopper, Sammy & Lil Bit!

My niche is senior and family portraits, though I also do enjoy and shoot special events, weddings, maternity, newborns, pets and sports. I do not shoot in studio; instead, I prefer to be outside and traveling to the beautiful towns, landmarks and parks throughout northeastern Ohio! 

I love the beach AND snow, hiking, pizza, swimming, scrapbooking, reading, yoga and
volunteering at both the Summit County Humane Society and Hot Mess Express.
